please tell me if there is a better
step-sequencer/instrument/vst than this. i feel like its
really good, its simultaneously easy and powerful as fuck
(90% of my ableton sets are basically impulse tracks and
effects) but i cant shake the feeling that, i dunno maybe
its whack and im using a piece of shit software and its not
really that good

and yeah when i say 'vst' im talking specifically about
sequencers, drummachines, etc. not like vst's in general.

but an arpegiattor before impulse.
put random before impulse.
set random on 10%
set bpm at 180.
do a loop on impulse.
launch it.
turn the arpegiator knob 8/12/16/24/32

instant idm breakcore madness

or just listen to these samples

sample_1

before you listen to the next one be sure that your audio is
really loud and your bass is driven up !!

yeah_fuck_bitch

the second one has also about 3 beat repeats behind impulse.

oh and one thing - both track were made completely live.
there were just the two patterns and i tweaked them on the
flow.

NI Battery is more versatile but impulse does the job, don't
worry about it.

would be nice if you every single sound could be linked to
another output. also - there could be an option to load
multiple sample maps into it...

here's a random thingie done with FL.
this is just one pattern I made but it keep changing because
eats sample is set to arpeggiate randomly at fixed rates (4
beats, 2 beats, 1 beats,...). and all the sample are
controlled trough a layer. and the layer switches randomly
through the layers.

You'ld need to use multiple instances of it to do that I
suppose.

It's fun doing that in Battery and have random settings for
start point, loop point pan etc. and record the lot.

i mean how much layers do you actually have ? one for each
sample and then all layers bond together by another layer ?

really nice idea. very creative. did you invent that one by
yourself ?

i never saw any artist that would give his inventions away
for free :D

I just make loops/beats in reason, when cut them up in
soundforge and acid. I don't like random, er sorry I mean
"generative" effects.

brainstorming about making richard devine beats with FL. :)

here's what some guy on the FL forums posted not so long
ago.
it's a beat repeat made in FL. play the pattern and make
sure the "stutter" channel is selected. then press the keys
A Z E R T anyway you like. pretty cool stuff.
